Advanced students performed "One" from Chorus Line at the Charles R. Wood Theater as part of the Glens Falls Community Theater's presentation of "One 70th Sensation", November 3 - November 6, 2005. This was a special opportunity for our dancers as they performed to live choral and orchestra accompaniment. A memory they will treasure as being a part of another professional quality production.
Kristen Rafferty and Krista Scimeca both recipients of Gold Award placements in the (15-16) Lyrical Division at International Dance Challenge were chosen by a panel of judges to compete for soloist title at the IDC National Competition held in July 2006. Krista also received the Judge Heart and Soul Dancer Award at the United State Tournament of Dance.
Members- of our Senior and Junior Company who traveled to Springfield, MA and competed in United State Tournament of Dance. We performed five group, two duets and two solo dances. Brought home five first place trophies, highest score trophy in 15-18 Lyrical Division, second place trophy, three sterling silver awards, and Judge's Passionate and Professionalism Award. International Dance Challenge regional competition held in Albany in March we competed in group, duet and solo work placing first in many categories, 1st place Gold, Overall High Score Award, Senior Production Challenge Champions and winning a cash award. Our senior company dancers finished with high scores qualifying for both USTD and IDC National Competitions. They were long weekends for these dancers. Hats off to them for their dedication and long hours of rehearsals spent to look their best in representing our studio. Junior Company dancers: Cathy Flores, Kiersten Gourlay, Taylor Grace, Marissa Perrone, Jenny Pratt, Erin Rafferty, Christopher Redmond, Brittney Ross and Taylor Ruggiero. Senior Company dancers: Colleen Brearley, Chelsea Collins, Shauna Collins, Danielle D'Ambrosio, Marisa Hall, Jessica Morrissey, Kara Pagels, Kristen Rafferty, Krista Scimeca and Kiera Stewart
Dance Center alumnus Jennifer DePalo Rivera, currently with the Martha Graham Dance Company will be performing the role of Sugar Plum in the 2006 Adirondack Ballet Theater's Nutcracker performances.
